Removing Pet Hair Tips
“I would like to thank everyone for their kind remarks”West End Cleaning
All folks with a furry pet have the chore of cleaning up the remanence of their friend’s shiny coat. Pets shed 24/7, 365 days a year with the peak period in the spring when the winter coats are dropped like your kids things when they arrive home
Tips that help before you reach for the vacuum.
- Brushing is the best thing you can do to reduce the job of cleaning The hard part is to get them to keep still while you try to brush the hair out, before the spread it about. There are lots of different brushes made for your pets hair texture and lengths, find one to suite at most pet supply stores. I like to use a brush that’s built into a glove, my cat thinks he’s getting his petting reward without that dreaded brush. Don’t forget the after treats.
- Cover the surfaces your pet uses frequently with blankets and area rugs. Dog’s love having their own scented spot to curl up on, for cats you can try to rub the cover with catnip. It takes a while longer for a cat to figure it out but they mostly come around.
After the hurricane is over.
Furniture
- Lint Brushes or Rollers: They're effective at removing pet hair from furniture and draperies. They're economical, Roller replacement are available for wands.
- Rubber Gloves: Lots of pet owners like rubber gloves to deal with hair on fabric furniture.. Rub in one direction.
- Microfiber: A microfiber cloth has an electrostatic charged that works well on hard surfaces
Floors
- Mop: Frequent use of a microfiber or a damp mop will pick up most pet hair. Use a Swiffer for the odd shaped moulding and sills. (Swiffer refills can be washed and reused.)
- Vacuum: This chore speaks for itself, keep the custom tools handy and as always keep the filter clean.
Professional Help
- Busy pet lovers find great value in housecleaning services. Having their homes cleaned every week or two can make the problems of air quality and allergies to pet hair manageable.
